Norton Internet Security uninstall problem

Typically, there are TWO methods you can use to get rid of your expired NIS product:

Option 1: Run Norton’s uninstaller

    • Click start/Windows button.
    • Scroll up the menu and enter All Programs / Programs.
    • Go to the following Norton Internet Security folder on the list.

    • Run the “Uninstall Norton Internet Security” application in that mentioned folder above.

    • If you wish to remove it and use another virus protection from Symantec to replace the currently installed NIS, you run the 1st option on the window. And if you do not want to do so, you choose the 2nd one.

    • You can click “No, thanks” button.

    • Follow the wizard below: you press the Next button.

    • Please wait… “Preparing to Uninstall & Removing Norton files…”

    • Now, I strongly recommend that you reboot your computer automatically without any delay!

Option 2: Run the uninstaller in the programs list

    • It might be easy and quick as well: you just need to click on the Change/Remove button next to your unwanted Norton Internet Security program in the Add/Remove Programs (Uninstall or change a program) list.

You find that the remaining traces of the uninstalled/half-uninstalled NIS prevent you from installing other security product, then you may have to use the Norton Removal Tool (Please note that, some associated registry keys like “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Symantec\InstalledApps​\” may still remain on your computer thus you may be able to clean up them manually.) or 3rd-part professional uninstaller program
