How to download music from google play to phone

Download music to listen offline

You can download music you've purchased or added to Google Play to your mobile device or computer so you can listen when you don't have an Internet connection. If you subscribe to Google Play Music, you can also download subscription tracks to your mobile device.
On your mobile device

Download your music

  1. Open the Google Play Music app Play Music.
  2. Tap an album or playlist.
  3. Tap Download Download.
If you need to remove or stop a download in progress, tap Download Download.

Download subscription music

If you're a subscriber, you can also download subscription albums, playlists, and radio stations. Any songs you've downloaded as part of your subscription will be available offline as long as your subscription is active.
  1. Tap an album, playlist, or radio station.
  2. Tap More More and then Download.

On your computer
When you download using Safari, Internet Explorer, or Firefox, you can download a song to your computer two times. When you use Google Play Music for Chrome or Music Manager, you can download to your computer an unlimited amount of times.
Note: You can't download a radio station on your computer.

Using the web player

  1. Go to the Google Play Music web player.
  2. Click Menu Menu and then Music Library.
  3. Click Albums or Songs.
  4. Hover over the song or album you want to download.
  5. Click More More and then Download or Download album.

Using Music Manager

Once you've set up Music Manager:
  1. Open Google Play Music Manager.
  2. Click Download.
  3. Click Download my library or Download free and purchased.

See and manage downloads on your mobile device

See only your downloaded music
  1. Open the Google Play Music app Play Music.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Downloaded Only.
When you have Downloaded only selected, the switch will be orange and you will see a banner across the top of your screen. Tap the switch or banner again to view all music in your library.

View your download queue
  1. Open the Google Play Music app Play Music.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Settings and then Manage downloads.
Save music to an SD card (only available on Android 4.4+)
Some Android devices support external SD card memory. If your Android device is running Android 4.4+, here's how to save music to your SD card.
  1. Open the Google Play Music app Play Music.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Settings and then Storage location and then External.
You can save music to your SD card, but you can't transfer music from your SD card to another device.
